My practice is dedicated to minimizing the emotional stress associated with family law cases. The practice of collaborative law is especially good for family law disputes. It gives families the opportunity to resolve their cases through negotiation. This often produces better agreements with less stress and an easier transition for children. We encourage family law resolutions through collaborative law and mediation in the vast majority of cases that we encounter.

We also offer you the option to choose the level of services that you receive from us:

Full Scope Representation: You hire us to represent you from the beginning to the end, through a final trial and a rendition and signing of a final order. This ordinarily does not include an appeal, but could depending on the circumstances. Our legal assistance would include communication with the other side, preparation for any meetings and other attempts to settle the case outside of court, preparation for and attendance at hearings, and drafting as appropriate, any pleadings and orders.

Limited Scope Representations (LSR): You decide what your specific needs are, and use us only for selected services. Here are some examples of how the work can be split between the client and the lawyer on a limited basis:

• You come in for office consults on an as needed basis, paying only for each consult as you have them, and implement the advice you are given on your own.
• You pay for us to draft legal documents, and you sign and file them yourself.
• You hire us to coach you on how to represent yourself in Court and help prepare the evidence that you will present in Court.
• You hire us to help with the more complicated matters like formal discovery or research of complicated legal issues.

LSR allows you to have more control over your case and the cost of your case. If you choose some form of LSR, it is very important that we clearly communicate what we will be doing and what you will be doing and put it in writing. We can tell you whether or not your case is appropriate for LSR based upon our training and experience.
