When there is little or no marital property, no children, no issues of spousal maintenance, amicable spouses can usually obtain a quick divorce by making a divorce agreement and having a judge approve it.

Probate

Whether you have a handwritten or typewritten will, its validity must be proved in court. This procedure is known as probate, and it generally must take place within four years after death.

We can help you during this process by evaluating your options in view of the size of the deceased's estate, the nature and amount of debts owed by the deceased, and whether or not the deceased left a will. We handle probating wills, will contests, determinations of heirship in the absence of a will, probating wills as a muniment of title, small estate affidavits, and other probate proceedings. We also assist with the independent and dependent administration of estates.

If you live anywhere in Travis County, Williamson County, Caldwell County, Bastrop County, or Hays County and need the services of an Austin, Texas probate lawyer, please contact the Law Office of J. Tim Whitten, P.C.
