Adoption

Adoption can take several forms, but I focus primarily on adoptions by stepparents, grandparents, or other family members. My office is located in Austin, Texas and I provide adoption services for clients throughout Travis County, Williamson County, Caldwell County, Bastrop County, and Hays County.

In order to proceed with a stepparent adoption, it is usually necessary to terminate the parental rights of the non-custodial parent. Sometimes the biological parent agrees to the termination and adoption, but there are times when it is necessary to seek an involuntary termination and the case can be contested. Sometimes grandparents find themselves raising children and it becomes preferable to try and adopt the children.
